Talks & Workshops & Miscellaneous sessions

We like to keep our schedule easy-going. You are absolutely encouraged to host a spontaneous workshop or give a talk. Whether you want to drop a quick lightning talk or talk for an hour, there is plenty of space on the schedule!

Talks and workshops come in three flavors:

• scheduled sessions (via talks.hackenopenair.de)
• self-organized sessions (edit this wiki page on your own and give DECT: TALK a short info)
• /var/ (someone intends to provide ad-hoc sessions on $TOPIC and would like you to contact them on site)

ℹ️ Information:

• We’re offering recordings of sessions.
• When putting up a self-organized session: Check if the room is available (see schedule).
• If you plan on using the technical equipment at the tent (projector, pa system, etc.) make a quick call to DECT: TALK so we can set it up together w/ you.

• Back Gammon with Hiram (daily, depending on interest)
  • Discover this 5,000-year-old board game for two players! This workshop is perfect for beginners and curious minds who want to learn an offline, social game featuring simple rules and deep strategic appeal. You will learn the basics, pick up some tactical tricks, and enjoy a round in a relaxed atmosphere. If you own a board, feel free to bring it along to HOA!

• Lachyoga Vier Jahreszeiten mit Troodon (Fr. 16:00)
  • Vorraussetzungen: Lust auf Lachen, eine gefüllte Wasserflasche und keine Scheu vor Albernheiten.
  • Freitag 16 Uhr. Wir treffen uns am Strand uns suchen uns dann einen Ort auf der Wiese. Dauer ungefähr 45 Minuten.

• Yerba Mate Session 🧉
  • Ever wanted to try out the traditional mate tea, which the popular drink is based on? Or you already are a matero and would like to enjoy a mate together? Then this session is for you. I show you how to prepare a mate and then we pass it around and share stories.
  • Thursday at ~16 hours. If the weather is good we can sit a the lake, otherwise we'll look for a rain-proof place.

• Mead tasting 🍯
  • You have probably drank some mead before, at a medieval festival or christmas market. But have you ever tried out different varieties? Cask aged mead? Mead based on acacias honey? Dive into the beautiful and diverse world of mead tasting. This will not be a blind tasting; instead I will share a bit of context and background for each mead.
  • Thursday after dinner at ~20 hours, in the workshop room (if we fit).
  • I will ask for a small participation fee to cover the cost of the mead, 5-10€ dependening on participation.

• Project Elevator Pitch
  • Friday 20:00, Jurte
  • Did you bring a project to hack on to HOA? Have you got an interesting project at home? I (and probably others) would love to hear about it!
  • Every participant gets 2 minutes to present their project, afterwards we can enter a general discussion
  • It is not necessary to bring a project to talk about, you can just join to listen as well
  • Host: AberDerBart (no DECT unfortunately)

Someone intends to provide ad-hoc sessions on the following topics and would like you to contact them at the event.

• Lock picking
  • location @nVillage, shelter next to the green T4 van at the eastern end of Seeblick
  • tools and locks are publicly available at our camp. You can come over and do some lock picking
  • I can assist you and teach you the basics, when I'm available

• Basic balloon twisting → contact Snafu @7623 or @snafu:matrix.cert.ccc.de
• Papier-Fächer bemalen → contact fiurin Dect:3487 or @fiurin@chaos.social
  • Ich bringe Papier-bezogene Fächer mit und Tusche (2 Arbeitsplätze)
  • Sucht euch (noch andere) Stifte oder Farben und bemalt, bestempelt oder bedruckt euren Papierfächer.
  • Zeit und Dauer: Wann immer du Lust hast und wir einen Tisch finden.
  • Materialkosten: 2 €
• Kati und Makki suchen für die ein oder andere Partie 6 nimmt, auch bekannt als Hornochse weitere Mitspieler.
  • Bei Interesse gerne bei dem grünen Camper mit den Schafen drauf melden.
• Kuchenblechmafia (DECT 5260) hat 6 Lötbausätze für LED Würfel (D6, nicht die geometrische Figur) dabei. Die Bausätzte basieren auf einem Attiny85 und können aus der Arduino IDE programmiert werden. Eine Lötausrüstung habe ich dabei und gebe auch gerne Unterstützung. Kosten sind ca. 5€.

* Wir, Kati und Makki haben einen Stockbrotteig gemacht, den wir heute Abend gerne mit euch am Feuer teilen möchten. Bei Fragen meldet euch gerne am grünen Camper mit den Schafen.

New this year: Opt-in Recordings! For the first time in HOA history, we’re offering to record sessions. While we don't have a massive C3-style VOC, our team is running a sweet and simple recording environment: a video camera for the speaker, direct device output capture for your slides, two microphones, and a PA. Recording is strictly opt-in. So if you prefer your session to be an exclusive, in-person-only experience without cameras, that is perfectly fine too. For any questions regarding the recording setup, just reach out to i4n (4444).
